Male bonding at its best!

I've never been on the deer hunt but from the outside looking in this is what I think, sure its about the "harvest" but I think its mostly about the food,campfire, stories and the male bonding.  You never know maybe someday I'll go and put my blue card to good use...

A Fall Drive and a Good Laugh

There's nothing like a fall drive to see the changing leaves.  Add to that good food and good company and you've got yourself a party.

We all have a story to tell...

About six months ago, my family had a celebration in honor of what would have been my Grandpa Christofferson's 100th birthday.  At the party there were a few histories available that I had never seen before.  One of which was my Great Grandma Sophia's that she wrote the night that she died.  Apparently she was prompted to write a few things down.  I was thrilled to find out that she had written some of her story.  http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=2354fccf2b7db010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=313e27cd3f37b010VgnVCM1000004d82620a____&hideNav=1  I've always been intrigued by her story I found that it gave new perspective to some of her experiences and I felt that I had a peek into her personality given through her writings.  I also found myself craving more, longing for more from her, more of her life story.  I wondered how she felt about starting a new life in America, what she missed of Sweden, what she experienced and learned as she was raising her children.

I have been an off and on journal and write stuff down kind of gal.  Lets face it life is busy and its easy to move past opportunities to record anything.  So I was jazzed to run across this JessicaSprague.com in my web surfing, a free class on how to capture and organize personal memories. Just look for the stories at hand information for sign up instructions. I know I have a lot to say but a lot of times I just don't get around to it, know what I mean?  Anyway, I'd be interested to know if you take the class and how it goes.  I'm looking forward to it :)

Attitude is everything

An E-mail from my Mom,   love this and believe this is true!
All the 5th grade students have memorized a quote called attitude. Their teachers asked me if each class could recite it to me by memory when they come to library. They have specific actions for certain words to help them remember the quote. Today was the third time I have heard it and plan for two more classes in the next couple of days. The addition of the actions make it even more meaningful. I cannot express to you to power of seeing 30 ten year olds reciting this quote. It is amazing! To see the potential and hope in each of their eyes and realizing that if they adopt this as a quote to live by, their is no telling what they can do. This is one of the good things I have seen in others today!

I'm Trapped

What's a girl to do?  When you are using your spare set of van keys and they get lost too.  I'm telling you, I had them on Monday and remember where they were strategically placed.  Are they there now?  No not at all.  I am feeling a little panicky.  When I get my keys I am making 10 sets and placing them in several different locales just in case.  I am considering renting a metal detector, I mean it is possible that one of the kids picked them up and took them on a little adventure.  They could be anywhere if this is the case.  I've called the locksmith for a price to get me out of this little problem and I have to be honest this is not a Stupid Tax I am in the mood to pay.  So in the mean time I'm grounded so to speak, my set of wheels and freedom are parked.  So, until next time and a little advice go make 5-10 sets of extra keys as soon as you can, love to all...
